Sinphonia #1

In Symphony nº 1, Symbolic Compositions, my gaze turns to the prehistoric caves of Parque Nacional do Peruaçu in Brazil, as well as the Chauvet cave in France, interpreting them as sites of sacred expression and primordial visual communication. The series invites the audience into a space of both visual and sensory contemplation, where the paintings are accompanied by sound compositions that echo the textures, colors, and symbolic depth of the cave walls. These melodies are not illustrative but atmospheric, evoking the layered materiality and timeless resonance of these ancestral spaces. The color palette—terracotta, pink tones, off-whites, greenish hues, and browns—recalls the mineral pigments of rocks and soil. The richly worked surfaces simultaneously suggest geological stratification and symbolic inscription. The emerging forms—crevices, figures, and primordial marks—appear to hover between past and future, reality and dream.
